Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership is a private sector-led private/public partnership. The Board comprises six representatives from the private sector, including the Chair who has a casting vote, and six from the public sector.

Private sector members are recruited, advised and supported by the Advisory Panel. They are recruited against specific selection criteria, taking into account personal skills and experience, and seeking to put together a Board which reflects the range of business sizes, sectors and geography. Click here for more information on the Advisory Panel.

The six public sector representatives are selected, advised and supported by the Cumbria Leaders’ Board. Due to the large number of local authorities, Cumbria’s six district councils rotate their involvement in the Board. Click here for more information on the Leaders’ Board.

The Board is also supported by Expert Groups, providing specialist advice and support. Click here for more information.

Board appointments are for an initial period of one year, with the option to go for re-selection. After the initial year it is envisaged that appointments will be for three years.

All Board members sign up to a Code of Practice ensuring there is no conflict of interest in taking key decisions that influence development and investment and setting out clear processes for consultation and feedback.
